SWOP^® Recognizes Color Experts in SWOP^® Certification Program

The SWOP Certification Program for Off-press Proofing Systems has been operating within the Arizona State University Polytechnic Campus since September 2004. Dr. Thomas Schildgen, Department Head, Department of Information Management and Technology with the help of Faculty Associate Larry Steele created a lab facility including all the necessary equipment for measuring and assessing color. Industry companies including X-Rite and GTILite provided instruments and viewing booths for students use in learning correct color measurement and viewing.

From September 2004 until the current time, all SWOP^® Certifications have included both measurement-based and visual assessment-based phases. Industry color experts have been indispensable in performing the visual assessment phase of the program.
